Getting Work Done on the Estate

Because we have limited budgets, it isn't possible to have every repair or improvement done immediately. However, we do have a planned Programme of Work each Financial Year, and try to keep enough in reserve to pay for unexpected emergencies (especially sewerage).

We have a process for routine work-requests, shown in the diagram below:

The responsibility for repairing or unblocking sewers and drains depends upon the type of pipework. Large-bore pipes (typically nine inches or more) are dealt with by the WCHOA. The pitch-fibre pipes between Brit View Road and West Walk are treated as extended lateral drains: the responsibilities are set out below:

For clarity, the pipes and their types are shown on the plan below; the large-bore pipes continue into the original system on the lower Estate:
